“We need strawberries.” Kal stared into the crowded depths of the freezer. Kara could see the neat stacks of food her friends kept on hand for heavy news days, and the jumbled chaos of Lois’ favorite microwave snacks interfiled with Jimmy’s boxes of frozen pretzels. Kal straightened a few of them, his shoulders sank when the plastic bags immediately slithered out of the pile he placed them in.
“We could go to that one place.” Jimmy leaned over the couch.
“Jimmy, we have been to at least twenty places for strawberries.”
“The pink one. With the strawberry slushies.”
