Summary
Tommy approaches the king directly, standing right in front of him. Up close, from here, Tommy feels impossibly small. He has to tilt his head back to look up at this man, and the king stares down at him with a ghost of a smile, like he’s amused at the fact that they’re so far in terms of height.
His young hands lift up a wooden box. The king stares at it with disinterest, but he takes it when Tommy shoves it forward, almost hitting it into his armor.
Holding it in the palm of one hand, the king undoes the latch and lifts the lid. He pauses.
Inside that box, sits a woven crown made of fresh yellow flowers.
(Or, Technoblade is taking over the world, conquering kingdoms one by one, and Tommy is a young, newly crowned king who's waiting for him to arrive, with a gift of appeasement in hand.)

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

“Welcome everyone,” Tom said with a smile. “How did everyone’s week go? Did we all work on those exercises I gave you last meeting?” Sounds of grumbling rippled through the circle of plastic chairs as the various versions of Tommy muttered to themselves. Tom sighed. “Let's start with a roll call then shall we?”
He looked down at his clipboard and the long list of names.
“Um.. Tommy?” He called out. Almost all of the voices in the room replied with an uncoordinated ‘here.’

The call cut to music, and Tommy stopped breathing for exactly 45 seconds until the call reconnected to someone. (He only knew that because he counted every damn second, determined to focus on something, anything else.)
"Hello?"
Tommy flopped backwards onto his bed, cringing at the desperation in his own voice, "hi... I uhh... fuck. I don't know how to do this."
The line went quiet, and Tommy blinked. Did he get disconnected? He wasn't even mad if he did, because, in all honesty, that would be really fucking funny considering the circumstances. Like, not funny at all, really. But also just absolutely hilarious. Especially considering-
"Tommy? Is that you?"
Or, Tommy, at a loss of what to do, calls the suicide hotline. What he didn't know was that his older brother Wilbur would be on the other side of the line.

As much as Tommy is impressed with Wilbur, he knows distinctly that the feeling isn't mutual. Tommy doesn't have anything to offer, he wears a total of three shirts and calls it a style, he trips over his shoelaces when he takes his dogs out, he still has to complete homework sheets after school. He isn't someone that Wilbur can have long conversation with about composting or whatever the fuck Wilbur is into after a three am internet deep dive.
A soulmate is supposed to be your other half- someone who meets you toe for toe, picks up where you leave off, highlights your strengths and eases your weaknesses. A soulmate isn't Tommyinnit, a kid who scrounged around on Hypixal and got bullied in secondary school.
or, Tommy finds out his platonic soulmate is Wilbur Soot and decides to keep it quiet out of fear he isn't good enough.

“It’s raining, Tech,” Tommy says again because he doesn’t get it and Tommy can’t understand what there is to get. “I like the rain.” Techno listens and Tommy stumbles closer, letting his brother catch him by his forearms. “I forgot I could feel like this,” he says, half laughing and half crying. “I forgot I liked the rain. I forgot I liked the rain, Technoblade. How could I forget this?”
Crimson eyes flick over Tommy’s face, searching for something, and Tommy can’t tell if he found it or didn’t with the way his grip just ever so slightly tightens. He tugs gently, frowning again, and glancing around the ruins-turned-garden he found Tommy in. “Alright, you’re gonna make yourself sick, come on, I’ll get you wherever you were going.”
