Sometimes you look next to you, and you see red before you see Reki. It’s those moments that you hate most: the steady drip of reminiscing, the flash of panic before your head stills at the reminder that nothing could have happened. You’re still in school. Nobody is injured here, least of all him. Least of all you. Your head clings to the truth with stubborn fingers made white with tension, but your heart (silly, fearful thing that it is) fears anticipatorily.

gosh. this author’s writing is so soft and radiates comfort. and this series is one of the first renga works i ever read since getting into the fandom. way to put the bar in the sky.
with every story you can see just how much renga care for each other, how easily they fit into each other’s lives, how they can always rely on one another when they’re struggling. and it’s the little ways they comforted and understood each other that melted my heart, the blunt and repeated thoughts and worries that were so incredibly realistic. this is truly hurt/comfort for the soul. -
