Summary
Yuuji learns that jealousy tastes kind of like lemons as it settles across his gums and stings like citric acid. I want his hands to fix me, too, Yuuji thinks.
In the confines of his skull, Sukuna laughs hard enough to make Yuuji’s ears ring for the next 12 hours.
(or: Yuuji pines; Sukuna "helps")

Summary
The love letter is two sentences long. There isn’t even a Dear Langa, that’s how short it is. It covers approximately 10% of the paper’s surface area.
The sentences get straight to the point. I have a crush on you. Isn’t that awful? It’s written in striking red, in an almost illegible handwriting.
There’s no signature.
For the first time in Langa’s life, he cares about a love confession.

Summary
eyes drawn one way, memory another
Sometimes you look next to you, and you see red before you see Reki. It’s those moments that you hate most: the steady drip of reminiscing, the flash of panic before your head stills at the reminder that nothing could have happened. You’re still in school. Nobody is injured here, least of all him. Least of all you. Your head clings to the truth with stubborn fingers made white with tension, but your heart (silly, fearful thing that it is) fears anticipatorily.

Summary
Reki encounters his old skateboarding crew and takes a beating that, weirdly… feels good. He drifts in and out of his thoughts, beaten and bruised in the alley, when a familiar voice calls out to him—a voice that he's been trying so hard to push away.
Or: Langa finds Reki in the alley instead of Oka.

Summary
He remembers those soft smiles and quiet words and how things have felt different in these small ways after their fight. Maybe it’s simply a part of their coming back together— this careful, delicate dance and these unsaid words, still scrambling to pick up the remnants, the sharp edges and small fragments— maybe it’s something else too. Love?
Langa wonders about the true meaning of a home. He also falls a little more for his best friend with each passing day, tries to help heal old wounds and discovers new ones.

Summary
They are not made for each other in the traditional sense, what they had been before and what they are now don't fit enough to make it worth it. They end the way they start, with only the ocean to bear witness.
(they are creatures of habit and habits are hard to break). -

Summary
It's been a year since Prince Langa smiled. The queen offers a reward to anyone who can fix that. Reki would give it a try, but he's pretty sure being the one who broke the prince's heart disqualifies him.
“You’ve been quiet. Are you jealous?”
Reki lurches up. “Jealous of what?”
Miya’s brow angles impossibly higher. “Of all the attention the prince is getting?”
Right, of course. That’s what anyone would be jealous over. “I just don’t believe it. Prince Langa isn’t…” he waves one hand, frowning, “...like that.”
“Ha,” Miya crows. “Like you’d know.”
But he does. And Reki thinks: I could do it. I could make him smile. I’ve done it before.

i still have to get around to their other works, but i can’t NOT take a step back to simply admire this one.
this authors writing style is a mastery of pacing and conclusiveness. and i think it may be one of my favorites altogether. it’s the type of writing style that makes you feel *whole* after reading it.
aside from how natural the character dynamics feel, from hilarious banter, to deep talks that are subtle in their delivery, dialogue that is striking, insecurities that are so present and normal it aches, there is a blunt, weighted feel to it that is so so nice. just the punctual voice of it. simplicity in speaking tags and incredibly precise use of action tags. conclusiveness in how the characters navigate through each emotion, something derivable from each reaction, from every statement.
and as for the mastery of pacing itself, i think i have yet to see a style that flows so well as this one???? god because not only is there a flow and such a nice one at that, but there’s no drag or rush. literally everything about it feels *just right* i swear to god it was like in perfect tempo with my own anticipation, the writing itself having absolute control over my reactions like the author just *knows*. and despite how jittery and excited i was while reading i didn’t feel the need to skip ahead like i sometimes can’t help from doing because i was so so immersed in the story??? and invested in every single word too!! i just couldnt look away!!!
AND THEN as for the fic itself- my heart strings were pulled in every which direction omg.
ALSO BONUS FOR REKI’S CHARACTERIZATION. JUST. YES. SO SO GOOD. there’s a very very specific reki characterization that i love but cannot describe for the life of me and this contains it so i was on top of the world while reading this. -
