“Twenty pounds,” Eddie says to Hen on the firehouse couch, who’s eating a ham sandwich and reading a medical magazine.
“Huh?” She asks, because she has no context.
“I’ve gained twenty pounds since Buck and I started dating. That’s five months, that’s — that’s a lot, right?”
“Not really,” Hen lowers her magazine, “that seems like normal relationship weight, Eddie.”
Eddie leans on the couch, framing his forehead with his hand. “Buck’s gonna ruin me,” he says, completely ignoring her.
“Already happened,” Chimney says, deciding to sit on the arm of the couch. “What are we talking about?”
After gaining some weight in a happy relationship, Eddie is forced to examine his relationship with food, his body, and his self-worth.
