    That servant girl may have been sick with something else but Maekar is taking a great risk in letting her work again. Poor Maekar got flashbacks to Baelor when he smashed in Allyn's head.

      Also, any feedback on the horror bits in this chapter?
      I feel like I kinda rushed to the bloody-payoff, maybe I should build up more of the dread.

        I don't think it was a rush to the bloody-payoff, Maekar and the Maester now know that the threat is real. Will their efforts be enough to save those they love? More dread awaits because the flow of information is slowed, not knowing what is happening elsewhere. Also the horror of wondering who is infected and will become aggressive.
