Bucky is just recovering and meets someone who makes him feel normal again. By the time he gains the nerve to try anything, he thinks he lost his shot. Until the government realizes they need to put a positive public image on Bucky in order to keep him on the team. They pair him up with her, as a PR move, but his feelings bubble under the surface.
But things get complicated quickly.
(I wrote this because I know babyfics are always like ‘yup and then they had a baby and everything was fine’ and this is how I think our fave man would really handle a pregnancy pre-FATWS).

For example, sometimes, Shen Qingqiu evens out his breath and pretends to fall asleep. Minutes later, he would feel a delicate touch tracing his back, mapping out the grooves and dips of his scars. He wouldn’t do anything, but he would hide a small smile by his pillow.
It was the same tonight. For once, however, he reached out to do the same, tracing the marks of battle left on his partner's own back. He knew Liu Qingge was proud of his scars, as trophies and marks of his own travels and achievements. He would never feel the same about his own, but he wouldn’t have to worry about that when Liu Qingge couldn’t care less about it. Even if Shen Qingqiu would worry about it, he wouldn’t remember to, beside Liu Qingge. The latter likely already figured out the cause of his scars, but still didn't turn him away. Moreover, what mattered was that Liu Qingge never rushed to confirm the source of his scars, and he gave Shen Qingqiu the choice of when to tell him.
He felt the love, patience, and kindness. He never would have expected he would have something like this one day.
As Shen Qingqiu traces figures and lines on his partner’s broad back, he maps out the grooves and dips of his scars. The warm chuckle by his ear is a reward, and Shen Qingqiu feels a quiet sort of peace that follows him thereafter to his dreams.

The side of his face is lit by the 7 pm light from the window, that part of his hair a sunny fuzz. Then, two facts dawn on Will at once: 1) that might be his favorite version of Mike, and 2) this version hasn’t appeared in so long it feels like being hit and smothered by something really soft and warm.

The entity began to explain, “We entities don’t get energy from normal food, we have the ability to feed off of very strong emotions- mainly fear or panic since those are extremely strong and relatively easy to achieve. You may ask Msak about this, but if we get hungry enough, we have the ability to temporarily leave the digital world to feed off of players”
