Summary
This is an iterative fanfiction of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. The primary point of divergence is that James and Lily Potter had a daughter who they named Harriett Lily Potter.
This is intended to be a fun, relatively-lighthearted take on hpmor.
The majority of changes are a direct consequence of Harriet being female, either due to personality changes stemming from differences in how young boys and young girls are socialized, differences in how young boys and young girls are treated by society, and also the political ramifications of The-Child-Who-Lived being female. Harriet is far less impulsive and more emotionally mature compared to Harry, though like Harry she does still possess the same mysterious dark side. Her scientific interests also diverge somewhat from Harry, with less focus on theoretical physics and more focus on social sciences (in particular related to gender, for understandable reasons), which in turn led her to study more statistics, epidemiology, genetics, and public health sciences.
I did change a few plot points not related to Harriet’s gender. There were some points I disagreed on, and some I just thought would fit the plot better.

How he would curl up in their nest, protected by V (two) firm carapaces and lulled to sleep by their continuous purring and huffed notes. Biological instinct dictated that [Simon] was no different; an offspring in need of comfort, of safety. And [Rocky] couldn’t deny it as [Simon] relaxed against him, finally able to succumb to sleep now that he knew he was protected, the [ultrasound] he emitted falling quiet - a gentle calm after so much turbulence. [Rocky] had done well, had soothed and reassured; eased the fear [Simon] was leaking as easily as his own blood."

Still trying to save their respective planets, Grace and Rocky gain a new problem they need to solve: the body of impossible human being appearing in the Hail Mary's airlock. Things slowly get worse from there.

When the first tiny spider bit into my shoulder it felt like an ice pick stabbing into the flesh. I have heard people describe a spider bite as burning; but this was definitely a stabbing sensation. As I felt the second bite into my lower back and the third bite into my right thigh I could still feel the venom from the first bite spreading into my bloodstream.

Summary
The day was suppose to go by as normal as every other day, however the world ended and it didn't do so quietly.
Far from the city, deep within an isolated forest, two escaped a lab soaked in blood, adrenaline and instincts pulling them away to save themselves.
The next day, the infection spread without warning, one scream turned into hundreds and more, cities and streets dissolving into chaos as people fled from neighbours who no longer were the same. In the first few hours, survival became instinct.
One, trapped in locked traffic with two of his friends.
One ran for his life through screaming crowds after escaping a bus turned slaughterhouse.
One's speed helped him vanished away from the train stations.
One more fought his way through the streets with nothing but strength and reflexes.
In the next few weeks, the world did not recover. Small groups formed, some broke apart and some vanished. Supplies became currency for those holding onto survival, trust became a risk too.
Eventually, different paths crossed all at once.
