Summary
The routine is this: Wake up, get ready, forget to eat, head to the complex, assist Mr. Joestar, follow a task, get found by Mr. Joestar once eating had been forgotten and get forced to eat before continuing said task, continue task, make sure it’s successful or somebody dies (or worsen the death, depending on what’s happening) come back, get fed, wait, leave, get to bed. Rinse, repeat, some days the foundation will offer new parts and upgrades along with a diagnostic run, other days Mr. Joestar will ask to take them to the Coda Ring and Josuke will have his run-n-fun beating the shit out of semi-humans or mechanical, technological abominations that belong to horror movies as they do in the illegal fighting ring, but nothing ever really goes different, that’s just part of the routine. Part of the schedule.
That’s been his whole life, anyway.

“Sonic! Oh, I finally caught up with you!” She exclaimed joyfully. Sonic just stared at her, dumbfounded. How had she even gotten here?!
As if reading his thoughts, she giggled. “Hehe, wondering how I got here? Well, that’s a girl’s secret~” she sang, looking smug. “But now that I’m here, we can go adventuring together!”

And maybe, just maybe, the two of them can grow to become more than sentient Artificial Intelligence and human. At least, that's what he finds himself hoping for nowadays.

"His mouth still felt numb, but that was okay. He didn’t need it to escape. He raised a hand to give the doctor a peace sign, only to freeze still when a metallic limb swung into his field of vision. Sonic jolted, mind focusing in on the perceived threat, confused when it stopped moving as he did. Slowly, carefully he flexed his fingers, horror creeping through his non-existent veins as he watched the movement mirrored by the claws.
He… knew that hand. The numbers in his mind came faster, blaring some sort of warning as the strange feeling of panic without a heartbeat became known to him as he looked down, taking in the sight of familiar blue paint. Not a quill or strand of fur in sight. He was… he was…"
After an experiment gone wrong, Sonic and Metal Sonic wake up to find themselves in the other's body. For one, it is a dream come true. For the other, their worst nightmare made horribly real. But as it turns out, things might not be quite as simple for the either of them.
