    The problem with dismissing and at best barely tolerating squibs and muggleborns is that the wizarding world never realized that every muggleborn has at least one squib ancestor in the last two generations or that these squibs still carry the family magic they are unable to wield. The totems are sought out either during a ritual at age seven or during extensive meditation. Usually, because of the nature of children, they never focus enough on these totems to befriend them and for them to claim them in return.

    There are sometimes though when a child has nothing but time to spend. One such time occurs when Harry Potter, the child of a muggleborn and a pureblood, a child who had never lived with them long enough to be taught that he’s a Potter and therefore wasn’t taught to expect a gryphon. When he falls into a healing coma enforced by his own body at age four, he has no expectations, so he doesn’t subconsciously seek any singular totem above any others- the usual reason only one family magic is accepted. He attracts them all and he’s curious enough, lonely enough, to befriend every animal that visits him in his mind, no matter how faint they are or how distant. It changes more than his state of loneliness.

    Philza didn’t remember much from before his heart stopped beating. He didn’t remember much from before crows started following him around or from before he had two massive wings on his back.

    The vividest thing he remembered was finding three crows on his doorstep about eight years ago. That was only the beginning. Day after day more and more crows appeared. Once they appeared they would constantly caw different words and phrases at him. Eventually each one however, would seemingly disappear and never return.

    Phil had his favorites though; specifically Tommy, Wilbur, and Technoblade.

    In an alternate world where everyone’s cultivation is influenced by the elements, every cultivation disciple falls into one of five affinities: water, fire, earth, metal, and wood.

    Except, Wei Wuxian is not a cultivation disciple. He is an impoverished orphan-turned-healer on the outskirts of Yunmeng, healing people in ways no one has ever seen. He doesn’t have a traditional affinity; instead, he has a power that has not been encountered or spoken of in centuries…and it has the ability to change the tide of the oncoming war, or bring the entire cultivation world to its knees.

    The problem is, Wei Wuxian does not want to bring the cultivation world to its knees, or be any figure of renown. He simply wants to heal people, reconnect with those he considers his family, and make a dour looking young man from Gusu smile.

    Of course, the world does not care what Wei Wuxian wants, and he has to learn the hard way that others may not think his good intentions matter.
