Tony Stark returns to his Malibu mansion after escaping captivity in Afghanistan with a metric fuck ton of guilt, a shortened lifespan and a new sense of purpose for what time he has left. When he is surprised by a painting in his home and a message of drunken condolences on his own death from an acquaintance, he can't resist pursuing the distraction.

This is an AU for my OC, Bronwyn James from Portrait of a Hero (where she meets Tony post Battle of New York). I love Tony in Iron Man 1 and 2 especially so I wanted to write a fix-it of sorts.
