He can almost see it. The bright light flickering, just waiting for him at the end of the tunnel. He's been traveling through this long singular path for what felt like years on end. Nothing but darkness and creepy crawlers to haunt him in his nightmares.
He can remember being on the opposite end, passing the flickering light and feeling so joyous, victorious at that. Feeling the weight lift of his shoulders, he can finally breathe again, regaining that part of his life that he once lost and yet he was side swiped.
Ending up back in that same spot he swore he would never go back to. The same dark and creepy tunnel he hated so much. The light flickering constantly shows that he's close to the finish line with each crawl his body makes. And he knows that; Dream knows he needs to keep pushing, he's right there and yet, he can't shake off this heavy feeling weighing his shoulders down.

Dream spirals mentally, not used to asking for help, he reaches his hands out hoping for someone to grasp it, pulling him out of the darkness.
