So he chases it—clings to it, follows it, because it’s nothing like he’s felt before. It's light, flushed, and it thaws something within him; so when chasing the feeling turns into chasing the gray skinned gambler with a troubled history, he doesn’t mind in the slightest.
The feeling is dreadfully familiar. Heated cheeks, bashful touch, tender smiles—he cannot do it again—not after Itrapped. So he waits—because Chance knows their heart won’t survive a second time, not when it never recovered in the first place. He ignores the festering, the yearning—all of it.

Or: Chance is forced (it isn’t forced for very long) into working for Mafioso. They yearn for eachother. Mafioso is unfamiliar with what it means. Chance refuses to act on their feelings because he’s hung up on Itrapped—but Mafioso is willing to wait.
