Summary
Scaramouche supposed that a puppet bereft of its strings was never meant to last.
With nowhere else to turn, Scaramouche seeks the help of Mondstadt's Chief Alchemist and hopes he can be cured of his ailment before Albedo discovers he's a Harbinger.
"It is a shame that Barbatos did not find you first," Albedo thought aloud and Scaramouche tensed all over, bristling at the perceived insult to his Archon. Before he could retort, however, Albedo continued, "You could have been under freedom instead of servitude."
And Scaramouche didn't know what to say to that.

Summary
Durin gets pulled into a strange Ley Line anomaly and wakes up alone in a Teyvat he doesn’t recognize. He meets Scaramouche, thinking that it’s just some strange alternate timeline where Hat Guy is a Fatui Harbinger, but it’s only a matter of time before he learns that he’s actually been pulled into a past that the world should have forgotten.
He also ends up joining the Fatui, somehow, but that’s neither here nor there. The important part is that he needs the help of both Scaramouche and the Albedo of the past to help him solve his Ley Line problem… if he can get them to work together, that is.

“Let me make one thing exceedingly clear, human,” he says. He leans his face closer to the man’s. “The only person allowed to kill Raiden Ei is me. And if any of you sniveling cockroaches get any ideas otherwise, I’ll kill all of you first.”When the Wanderer first stumbles across a group scheming to kill the Raiden Shogun, he gets rid of them. After all, his revenge is meaningless if some random human manages to kill Ei first. And when more groups begin cropping up, it's only natural that he destroys them too. There's just one issue: he's somehow managed to garner a reputation as... Raiden Ei's protector?

For the record, Ajax was not at all opposed to being sent on missions as another Harbinger's backup. As long as he was given things to fight and the rest of the tasks were not excruciatingly boring to get through, Tartaglia would comply without issues.
The actual mission, the actual tasks, the actual experience of being the backup was not the issue here.
The issue was-...He was the only Harbinger being tasked with things like these. The only Harbinger being designated as backup. The only Harbinger being treated like a class below the rest.
(Because Tartaglia was rash and reckless and could not be trusted to keep himself safe.
Tartaglia was to be looked after like an unpredictable rabid animal that only behaved under certain conditions.Tartaglia was off.)

Or, Childe struggles to understand why the Tsaritsa insists on treating him differently from the other Harbingers, and tries to pretend like his affiliations aren't irrevocably shifting towards the mysterious god he meets in Liyue.
