Summary
Set a while after Greed rescued the chimeras from the labs, the band of misfits have settled down in the Devil's Nest.
After an explosive exchange near the train yard, everyone seems to be doing fine. But for the young snow leopard chimera - Kota - old wounds have been scraped and threaten to bleed out. (Kinda literally but the metaphoric ones are a pain.)

I was rewatching atsv and I got some inspo from the scene where Gwen gets the watch that Hobie left for her. Her dad says "The guy who left it was a real piece of work" and I was curious about what that meant. This was the result of those musings and my interpretation of what a scene between George and Hobie would look like.

Hobie’s arm, which at some point had snaked its way behind Miles’s back, gives a brief and reassuring squeeze. For how much talk he usually is, he’s pretty good at this comforting stuff. “A’ight, well. You wanna revel in that for a bit, or you in the mood for a pick-me-up?”
About the last thing Miles wants to do is stay like this. His brows have a tension that won’t release and his face is crusty and the only relief is that his throat isn’t raw from screaming in his sleep. “Pick-me-up?” he prompts.
Hobie webs the door open with his free hand, catching it with his socked foot right before the spot where it always creaks, because he’s a bit of an enigma like that sometimes.
[Miles has a nightmare. Hobie immediately goes to check on him.]

“You!!! You stupid- I can’t believe you want to be in the water while we’re moving!” Chopper calling Zoro stupid made your blush even worse, being an idiot was one of his endearing qualities and one of the reasons you started crushing on him in the first place. You stayed out of their argument though, watching while Zoro tied the rope around his waist anyway. He was still yelling at Chopper even while climbing up on the railing.
You've been attracted to Zoro for a long time, and he finally realizes it after damn near drowning.
