Summary
Hours before the galaxy’s final stand against the Reapers, Garrus spaces out while watching a live feed of Palaven, causing him to recall both his distant and recent past. He is interrupted when Shepard returns to his post, asking him to sneak off with her for some alone time. Shepard would like to pretend they have a chance at being a normal couple. Just for a little while.

“I wanted to see you,” he says, voice thick. “Spirits, I missed you, I wasn’t sure if you still felt the same way about me and I wasn’t expecting…”
“I thought about you all the time,” she says. His subvocals rumble against her chest, and she tilts her head further as his hand winds through her hair with a gentle tug that draws a sharp gasp from her, warm to her core. Part it almost feels like grief dissipating.
Garrus tucks his face into the side of her neck, nose plate brushing along her pulse and his visor glows in her peripheral as he murmurs, “Yeah? You said that.”
A grin pulls at the corner of her mouth and she drags her nails along the delicate patches dotting the column of his throat only for his hips to twitch toward her and his grip tightens on her own. “I did. I thought about a lot of things though,” she brushes her lips along his mandible, letting everything else fade away just for the moment of Garrus wrapped around her, “you’ll have to be more specific.”

Even so, he thought, setting his armoured gloves and shoulder guards on the floor with his gauntlets, he wanted to help Shepard any way he could.
She was the most selfless person in the galaxy, and she deserved a moment to herself.
Most of all, Garrus wanted to be the one to take care of her.

It had always amazed you, how easily you could bring Kyle to his knees, this beautiful man who could've been a model but chose to take down terrorists for a living. A man who killed people at work then came home and looked at you with warm eyes through long, dark lashes you'd always been jealous of like you hung the stars in the sky just for him. He's absolutely breathtaking. Living proof that God has favorites, every inch of him a work of art.

Soap loved Christmas. Loved everything about it. It was his favourite holiday, bar none. From the cold weather, to the lights and decorations, the gifts, and of course the food, there was absolutely nothing about the holiday that he disliked.
