A lot happens in those 10 months: there are highs and lows, and through it all, Robby has a lot to figure out about himself, with Jack's help, of course.

He can't possibly explore any feelings he may have for the night shift attending. No, not until The List is whittled down or gone.
What could happen if The List is completed? Could he make an exception for the younger attending? Old habits are hard to break. It seems like Jack Abbot could just be the thing that Robby needs.

Summary
A particularly tragic case has left Robby low. Jack comes over to raise his spirits, and though Robby is one secretive son of a bitch when it comes to his own feelings, everything seems like it will be okay.
Later, the unthinkable happens. The attempt leaves Robby in the hospital and Jack scrambling to make sense of it all. He would've preferred Robby shoot him stone-cold dead.
As he starts the long road to recovery, Robby and Jack wrestle with the aftermath. Not only dealing with the devastation of his partner trying to take his own life, Jack struggles with his moral obligations as a doctor, a friend, and a partner. Robby wants to continue to be a pillar for his family to depend on, but has to come to terms with the fact that he cannot be an island forever.Bookmarked by Apoli

Summary
One of his favorite things about his Robby? How damn smart the man is. A damn genius, easily one of, if not the best doctor he’s ever worked with. Robby is straightforward and caring and kind, and he has an eye for medicine that can’t be taught, can only be natural. Everything he does is done with the easy grace of a man who has found his place in life, and it’s fucking entrancing.
But for all of his intelligence and his understanding of medicine, he’s remarkably bad at turning all that shit inwards. He knows all the signs of mental health struggles and how to basically strong-arm patients into going to therapy but he’ll never fucking do it himself.
