Summary
Ryland was never supposed to come back, but he did, and now he has to get used to Earth again. The gravity, the speech, the routine, and, not to mention, his newfound fear of explosions and people grabbing him, especially his neck. His brother, a very good stuntman if he's allowed to brag, decided Ryland needed to get out a little and dragged him to one of his sets. It would be better if he weren't constantly speaking like Rocky.
Or: Rocky's ship was never in danger and Grace was able to get back to Earth, albeit with some issues to work through and during the years with Rocky, he picked up some… interesting speech patterns.
Or or: I was bored and wanted to write this because I haven't seen anything similar yet. The timeline is my bitch now suckers.

Things will go back to normal now.

Roy discovers the letters after he agrees to train Jamie, accidentally stumbling across just how badly Jamie is doing. He refuses to stand by and let Jamie wilt away and die in front of his eyes, taking it upon himself to personally hold suicide watch for Jamie.
Meanwhile, Sam observes the weird sudden joint at the hip behavior between Jamie and Roy, trying to figure out what is going on and what caused it, before being let into the fold when Jamie needs a roommate during an away game.

When the train accelerates out of the station, the man to her right accidentally bumps into her, his entire torso pressing into her side. She flashes him a gracious smile, hoping he doesn't think she's angry with him. It's a crowded train, after all, and these things happen!
But then, at the next stop, he stumbles into her as the train arrives, and again as it leaves. Then again, and again, and again. Every time the train starts or stops, he leans against her, smiling and apologizing and letting his hips rest against her for just a little bit longer.
She bites her tongue and tries not to cry. It's probably not intentional. He apologized, after all. And the train is still quite packed, and he doesn't seem that steady on his feet. It's okay. It's all okay. It has to be okay.
She gets off a stop early and walks the rest of the way to work in her new heels. Her feet are bleeding when she arrives.

Tohru has always smiled through her pain. Why would this be any different?

As a child your mother would admonish you for simply walking away from conversations that you didn’t find interesting. At school you would leave classes to play chess against yourself in the bathroom. For better or worse, you have never been very good at doing anything you don’t want to.
You had left your suffocating hometown for the allure of the chess you could play in Moscow, and then when that too had stifled you, you’d defected.
One day, you think, there will be nowhere further that you can run to. Until then though, you don’t think you can ever settle for too long before that urge hits you again. You always think that maybe this is the time that it doesn't happen, but it always comes in the end. -
