The Kingdom of El is at peace.
It has been ten years since the White Martian Invasion and the formation of the League of Nations. Queen Lara is preparing to finally step down, and pass the crown to Prince Kal.
Prince Bruce has spent much of his time traveling abroad, returning to Gotham Castle intermittently for months or years at a time before venturing back out into the world.
This time is different. This time, he’s returning for an extended stay.
Or: the tale of two princes finding each other, and themselves.

On the run after a reveal gone bad, Danny flees to the most liminal city he knows of, second only to Amity Park: Gotham.
Everything is going just peachy. At least, until Danny spills a thermos full of ectoplasm all over the ground in an alleyway.
Oops.

TourettesDog wrote a prompt on the Haunting Heroes Discord server, and I took it and ran with it.
It’s far from done, I’m just writing scenes in no particular as I figure the story out. These are snippets of what I’ve got so far.

“As long as I wipe that grin off Alastor’s face, I don’t care what happens.”
Alastor stared death in the face. As long as you never get the satisfaction of seeing me break, I don’t care what happens, he thought.
But he felt raw and broken.
It was poetic that, in the end, the two rivals had succeeded in dragging each other to the brink of insanity.
If only Alastor could find the humor in that. If only he could feel anything at all.
Or, Alastor’s plan wasn’t meant to be pleasant. Unfortunately, he had misunderstood Vox’s intentions all those years ago and was thoroughly unprepared to deal with the direction his imprisonment took him. A week of mind games, torture, and one-sided desire was enough to bring the Radio Demon to his knees.- Language:

Bookmarker's Notes
Vox was lucky in some ways, getting to share similarities to a shark, an apex predator.
Alastor was stuck hating every part of his body and new instincts. Sure, Vincent had just as many complaints about being metal and circuits, but at least others didn’t label him weak with just a glance.
The deer sinner earned the fear he caused.
And now he felt the very fear he often caused. It was overwhelming. A draining sensation that made him too aware of his surroundings.
Freedom was so close. Just the thought was like a momentary high that briefly overtook him. When it left, he felt even worse. What if something went wrong?
The closer they got, the more his fantasies started condensing into something terrifyingly real. It was really happening and it all hinged on everything going exactly as Alastor planned.
He was proven wrong again and again in this tower. What if that happened again?
This moment couldn’t slip through his fingers.

Summary
Lucifer drags himself away from the aftermath of s2 and is not coping well with his new normal, but this time people notice the King is falling apart. Apologies are made, buried traumas are unearthed, and healing begins one step at a time.
------------------------------------------
Charlie starts out in a negative light in this, but she won't stay that way, promise. She's just needs consequences and I NEED Lucifer to have a mental breakdown/crash out. So this is going to be cathartic for me as much as a character study piece. -

The Radio demon grinned. "Because someone needs to remind you that you are the Morning Star."

Bookmarker's Notes
Lucifer struggled and pushed, but Valentino's tongue was already making a hot trail down his neck and pulling down his suit to get to his collarbone. He tried to throw a punch, knowing it would never be able to reach its mark as it froze mid-air expectedly. It only pleased Valentino more. He covered the fallen angel’s mouth to prevent any noise.
“I’ll take care of you, angelito.”
Then suddenly, Valentino was off of him and sprawling on the floor with a surprised yell. His hold on Lucifer nearly took the king to the ground with him, but multiple pairs of arms got him away from the hold that had his skin crawling. Lucifer held his neck, feeling the burn of a touch that he’d never be able to wash away completely, as if Valentino's saliva had been acid.
Suddenly, Lucifer found himself standing behind a very pissed Angel Dust, who seemed to have risen in height. His head was nearly touching the ceiling. His breath was like a rattling, clicking hiss that filled the halls as his fists flexed at his sides. The one used to hit Valentino was bleeding already from split knuckles, matching the red in the moth demon’s mouth where teeth had been broken.
“Leave. Him. Alone.” Angel’s voice filled the entire hall, and Lucifer’s eyes widened, nearly backing up despite knowing his friend’s anger was directed at his old tormentor. The voice was chilling, nonetheless. This was his demon form. Another set of arms emerged from somewhere under the clothes to complete the set of eight limbs of a dangerous spider.
Lucifer felt the familiar twinge of light from his angelic side, a feeling that Lucifer had been growing quite used to when being around Angel and recognizing the way he always smiled and encouraged his friends. The way he spoke about the people he cared about with fierce protection, even when pretending not to care. Lucifer felt it in the way Angel looked at Husk with something the Sinner refused to acknowledge yet: love.
But it was stronger now, seeming to radiate off Angel with a force that gave Lucifer the feeling of nostalgia for Heaven and every good thing he used to put in the world alongside his siblings. The good that had been tainted by Roo that tainted every soul here.
It was very clear now, watching Angel stand in front of him with Valentino’s gun having been knocked away from his hand. The Overlord looked up at Angel’s form with anger and something else—confusion and possibly fear.
“He killed his dad…Vox said he’s a murderer,” Charlie had told Lucifer. “I know I can redeem him, but I just…I don’t know how yet. He has to fix his sin."
Lucifer was sure Angel wouldn't have gotten here without Charlie's efforts, but it seemed that Angel had done it all on his own. He’d prevented Valentino from taking Lucifer's life. He'd prevented a murder. And, in doing so, reversed the wrong that had set him down here in Hell.
Angel Dust had been redeemed, and Lucifer could feel it radiating from the very soul he helped set free.
