Theodore Atlas Nott knew he was destined to die young. That was… fine… he supposed.
To be fair, he’d seen death… a lot of death. His mother died before his eyes when he was just a wee lad, murdered by his own father no less. His favorite house elf was beheaded shortly thereafter. What fuckery, what trauma. Mind healers would have so much fun with him. He knew, one day, Thoros Nott would kill him too. So what was the point? Why send him off to school? Why not just end it all?
Death seemed more peaceful than being the Nott heir.
But shortly after boarding the Hogwarts Express he saw a golden-eyed siren, bountiful, wild curls flowing down her back and sun kissed, freckled skin. He watched from his compartment, heart hammering in his chest as she stood at the snack trolly. Something the lump of a boy beside her stammered made her laugh. It rang like a bell. There was so much.. so much… LIFE in it. He wanted to bask in her glow. He wanted to take that small ray of sunshine and protect it.. keep that fire burning. And at that moment, he knew he had something to live for.This is a non canon rewrite from 4th year and after the war. Multiple POV.

But an all expenses vacation to Mallorca and paid time off from the ministry seemed promising.

That was absolutely the last thing she’d thought Draco Malfoy would ever say to her. Did he even consider her a sexual creature? How interesting. But regardless, his advice was useless because orgasms weren’t something she had ready access to.
“Excellent advice.” She turned a corner suddenly and quickly trotted up the steps. He barely faltered, keeping up with her seamlessly, uncowed by her unwelcoming tone.
“That sounded sarcastic.”
“Ten points to Slytherin,” she said, even more sarcastically, and then winced when she remembered that, as Head Girl, she actually had the authority to grant them and would probably see an additional ten emeralds in their vessel at dinner.

The Vastantes Potestatem curse. Latin, for Wasting Power. Or, how I think of it in my own mind, the ‘I Hope You Choke On It Curse.’ We don’t know when I was hexed, and we don’t know by whom. We can only assume it was at the Final Battle, by some Pure Blooded Bigot with a sick sense of humor.
But now, slowly but surely, the curse is killing me. Killing me, by taking the limits from my magic. The most powerful magical being in the world is suddenly a mud-blood swot with too much hair. But humans weren’t made to conduct this much raw magic through our bodies, and sooner or later, my body will give out.
There is no cure.
But there is a way to save my life.
If only I’m brave enough to try it.
