Xingqiu stares out into his ocean on his strip of sand, his toes curling on the beach as he watches the waves pull back to sea. Peaceful, tranquil, his family’s ocean and beach. Family comes first, remember that Xingqiu.
The seafoam bubbles and froths where the ocean meets sand, unseen tremors underneath the serene surface. He bites his lips, the spray of the sea landing on his face. The salt erodes skin, his skull and soul laid bare under the darkening sky.
