The Order of the Dragon was established to cherish the Balkans’ Christianity and assure the thing closest to their heart could not be stolen away from them. The spirit of such a strong, elusive creature was displayed in the passionate conquest of keeping their greatest treasure close.
Centuries later, that motif had stayed true throughout Vlad’s life, and had projected onto his lovely wife.

You tear your eyes from the myriad of glass tubing crowding the bunks. That was most definitely not the same automated voice that the computer had spoken with earlier. You turn around, and—
Well. You have no fucking idea what you’re looking at.
Your brain rapidly oscillates between fight or flight, fight or flight, before settling on the third option; freeze and scream. Your already dry and strained vocal cords squeeze and shred in protest, so it comes out less like shriek and more like a raspy whine. Get with the program, larynx!
The creature makes some sort of shrill, musical noise back, waving its appendages at you. Which you can only assume is some sort of offensive posture. Holy shit.
“Not worry! Rocky friend! Grace! Pilot friend awake!” The creature trills.
Hail Mary's commanding officer wakes up two months late.
