‘You saw it, right, Brucie?’ Joker’s standing over him all unearthly and ethereal, bruises blooming lavender across the canvas of his body. ‘You saw what I did to them just for stepping into your pretty little house?’
He’s still touching himself. All Bruce can do is nod, defenceless before him.
‘If I had my way, they would be ashes right now. But my soulmate— you see, he’s a real bleeding heart. And I would do anything he asked of me, anything at all.’
Joker crashes down to his knees like he’s showing Bruce how it’s done. He’s right in front of him all at once, they’re eye-to-eye with each other, and Joker’s looking at him like he’s more in love with him now than he’s ever been. All that boundless devotion is so plain to see in his face that it makes Bruce’s chest ache.
‘So ask me, Brucie,’ Joker breathes, almost begging. ‘Just ask.’

Bruce Wayne is living a (relatively) normal life, when he starts to notice a certain clown following him, the joker has just developed an obsession with this billionaire playboy and is determined to get as close to him as possible, for no reason other than he finds him interesting and is acting on impulse. Bruce is desperately trying to maintain his persona and not reveal his identity to the Joker without, y’know, dying.

Summary
The night was cold. All nights were cold in the Dark Cacao kingdom. Candlelight flickered and lanterns swung in the strong winds. Snow kissed the ground and settled in thick piles of chilly blankets, creating a soft glow as the moonlight reflected off it. Soldiers marched through the streets practicing routines, holding swords and lanterns to see through the darkness. Many were tired and aching from the gruelling temperatures and marches, but they continued their practices.
Broken leaves and splintered sticks littered the cobble grounds, the snow covering them causing every step to be unpredictable. Soldiers slipped constantly, being tread over by their comrades before pulling their aching bodies up to get back in their formations.
Above the darkened streets, the king stood ever observant, watching over his people.

Tulip’s Brew was a quaint little coffee shop that had seemingly endless flowers clustered on tables and bursting from corners. John Laurens, the owner of the establishment hummed as he set out pastries in the displays. Like every other morning that started like this, the door was pushed open in a rush as Frances Manning rushed in. John stopped humming along to the song to grin fondly at the teenager, who was bent over huffing.
"Sorry, I’m late John! I swear I would’ve gotten here before opening and helped set up,” she explained in a breathless rush. “But the subway was down because Magentix decided it was a great time to lace the subway tunnels with bombs.” The teenager finished with jazz hands.
