Wade struck.
In a blur of motion, gleeful and merciless, he surged forward. His gloved hand clamped the loose end of the chain, jerking Peter’s arm backward. The other cuff swung wide, and with a deft flick of his wrist, like he’d been practicing all his life, Wade snapped it shut around Peter’s free hand. Another click rang out, final, smug.
Both wrists caught. Arms yanked behind Peter's back.

Summary
Finding your friends attractive is normal. He hasn’t had a real relationship in years and Wade is the closest one to him, it’s only expected that something like this would happen eventually. A little friend-crush is normal.
As he spits the toothpaste down the drain, his mind wanders again.
But do I like him? I mean, he’s annoying and missing a screw or two but he’s also one of the best people I know.
Peter recalls all the times Wade had been there for Peter when he would be having a particularly bad day or even bad weeks. He always helped him and asked for nothing in return. Even now, Peter is staying at his house because Wade was worried about him. He looks down at the oversized Regina, Saskatchewan sweatshirt and the infamous Hello Kitty pajamas.
Peter’s heart speeds up again when he realizes he might have a capital-C Crush on his best friend. Peter sighs. I really am the dumbest person ever in life.
Or: Peter has been having wet dreams about Wade and now he can’t stop drooling over him.

“You got a splinter stuck in your no-no square,” Wade looks at a mortified Peter in disbelief, “and you want me to help you get it out? Are you doing the ‘I got stuck in the washing machine, step-bro’ thing? ‘Cuz if you are, I’m DTF but if you wanted me on you, you could’ve just asked”.
Peter cringes at the reminder of his current predicament.
“It’s not inside, it’s on the labia, I think. But…yes, I need your help. Just…please don’t make this more embarrassing than it already is,” Peter implores, already knowing that it’s an impossible expectation. He’s sitting at the very edge of the bed, elbows digging into his thighs and his hands over his face as he wishes for the mattress to swallow him whole.
There’s no way this situation can be anything but humiliating.
Or: Wade helps Peter with his morning wood.

“Even now? Ghost, how long was I out?”
“Eleven days. You lost a kidney. You almost lost your life.” Those eleven days may as well have been eleven lifetimes. “You almost crashed twice. Your heart’s in rough shape from the tissue swelling around it. How many times do you need to be told to follow your goddamn orders?”
Soap smiles weakly and opens his eyes a crack. The whites of them are very faintly yellowed, but his irises are as blue as ever. He gives Ghost’s hand as much of a squeeze as he can muster, which isn’t much given how out of it he still is. “I wouldn’t be half the man I am if I always followed orders.”
Ghost hates that Soap’s right.

Summary
Tony hadn’t been completely lying. He did have a problem, one that involved Peter, which is exactly why he can’t help Tony solve the problem. But trying to hide that from Peter was quickly becoming another problem.
Tony didn’t want to worry Peter, but he wasn’t sure how to go about his problem without worrying Peter.
Allowing Peter to keep coming and going like normal wasn’t working, as evidenced by Peter immediately clocking that something was wrong. But now, if he were to suddenly put some distance between them and suddenly stop seeing him, it would only make Peter worry more and probably assume that he did something wrong, and then both of them would be spiraling.
Tony wasn’t sure what to do.
That wasn’t true. He knew exactly what he should do. The whole problem could easily be solved with just a quick sentence.
(Or: Tony FINALLY realizes he loves Peter as his own, and is slowly working up to directly admitting it to Peter.

Natasha shrugged. “He could.”
Steve furrowed his brows. “But he didn't.”
“Why would he have?” Natasha raised a brow at Steve.
Steve didn’t know how to answer that.
