“You’ll have to clarify, I am fond of many,” James says as he opens the door for Xiao Wei. “After you, my dear princess,” he bows.
“It’s different with Sherlock, you cannot fool me James,” Xiao Wei states as she swishes on by, inside into the cooler lobby.
James’ grin twists a bit, going sharp as his eyes are going dark, eyes of a shark as Xiao Wei needlessly bleeds at a wound that shouldn't be touched. “Yes, yes, it is different with him. I tend to keep it that way.”

Or maybe Sherlock getting shot in front of James fucks him up more than he thought it would and it becomes everyone's Problem and doesn't entirely change the course of things, but dramatically changes their entire relationship.

Summary
Pressing their sides together, Alec rests his chin on Jace’s back and breathes in the comforting familiarity of Jace’s citrusy scent. He nuzzles Jace’s warm scales and shuts his eyes. He’s not especially tired, but he basks in the easy comfort.
When they were young, it was commonplace for him, Jace, and Izzy to curl up together. Sometimes Alec would be in human form to read to them or they’d all take their human forms. But most often, they chose small or medium dragon forms so they could fit comfortably in one nest. As they aged, the cuddling became less frequent, but not non-existent. They almost always cuddled when nesting.
Alec doesn’t manage to fall asleep, but he dozes against his brother, filling his senses and thoughts with home and family and, occasionally, Magnus.

As soon as his voice first came on the group call, they had to give him shit. If they didn’t start harassing him, the Blonde Boss Lady would have benched them thinking they were being mind controlled.
Every handler thought they could “handle” the Phoenix team. Tame them, make them palatable, water them down. Turn them good. So they didn’t like Robert.
But they did like his voice.

Each of them had tossed a small box into the middle of the table, each of them looking more and more flustered as they realised what had happened with each new box added to the small pile. It had only been fair that they had expected it would happen in the five years after they had first come together and defeated Shroud and the red ring, but none would have expected anything like this, Royd being the first to break the silence with a soft laugh of “Oh brudah.”
It's been five years since Shroud, five years since they all met Robert Robertson the Third. They all know they want to spend the rest of their lives with him.
Issue comes, they all want to be the first to pop the question to Robert himself, and the Z-team isn't known for playing fair with each other.
