Summary
Harry Potter is being ignored by everyone who’s supposed to care, takes a fall off a ladder and wakes up in a hospital. With nowhere left to go and a deep mistrust of adult intervention, he escapes to London for a night where things, naturally, get worse. He’s got no plan, a bruised skull, and a wand he’s not allowed to use. What he does get is Severus Snape, pressed into reluctant babysitter duty by Dumbledore himself.

Summary
Quick note: I accidentally used the series summary as the work summary before. It's been corrected now — sorry about that!
_______
Harry Potter killed a basilisk.
Drove off dozen of Dementors.
Survived a tournament designed to break him.And still, he is sent out of the room when the adults begin to decide his future.
An old magical artifact offers him a possibility:
a life in which he is not merely a symbol — but a priority. When a long-forgotten guardianship is activated and political tensions begin to fracture Hogwarts, it isn’t only the balance of power that shifts. It’s Harry’s closest relationships.
Some friendships are built on habit.
Others on choice. And this time, when the doors close —
Harry stays.Series

Summary
When they first lock eyes in the Great Hall, Harry feels the pain in his scar and figures it's some kind of karma, that he has a staring problem, and vows to keep eye contact with everyone to a minimum.
While Snape can't bear to be looked at by the boy with the face of James Potter, he can't help but feel himself crack at the seams when Lily Evans' eyes bore into his own.
My retelling of the first book, but with a bit more competence all around. Snape has a heart, and absolutely for the life of him can't handle Harry's eyes. (NOT Snarry) Lily haunts the narrative fr fr. (Not intended as Snily either, but if you want to go for it).
Yes, what if Harry's eyes got to Snape more than he'd like to admit? He gradually begins to care for the boy throughout the year, albeit begrudgingly and in his own way.
A slow-burning Severitus story.

Summary
He walks clumsily to the Sorting Hat, trying to hide the limp Uncle Vernon gave him. Whispers follow him when the memories of the past summer flash through his mind, Cedric's death, getting beaten by Uncle Vernon, the dementors attacking him and his cousin, his so called 'friends' ignoring all the letters he sent, and the way everyone at Grimmauld Place stared at him with that forced concern he can't stand.
He sits down slowly, tense, when he feels the familiar steel of his father's dagger pressing against his calf.
or, a resorting fic where Harry is simply done with everything and everyone and won't be anyone's pawn.
and before you think: I know how this goes-you don't

Summary
Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts knowing exactly where he belongs now. No uncertainty, no hesitation—when the Sorting Hat touches his head for the second time, green and silver will claim him without question.
But knowing his House is far easier than surviving it.
With old reputations shattered and new ones still fragile, Harry steps into a castle full of heirs who have been raised for this world since birth. There are political bargains in every corridor, tension at every table, and far more flirting than Harry knows what to do with. In Hogwarts, every conversation means something—and every mistake costs.
Determined never again to be powerless, Harry throws himself into everything at once: fourteen O.W.L. subjects, the slow climb through pureblood politics, and the dangerous art of becoming someone the wizarding world cannot ignore.
After all, balancing academic excellence, political manoeuvring, House rivalries, and his own increasingly complicated heart should be perfectly manageable.
What could go wrong?
