Summary
I'm certain some of you have already been thinking: "How would sequels, remakes or re-boots work in Gameoverse? How would the same/slightly different worlds and characters co-exist in the same universe?" Well, this fic is my take on how something of sorts would go. I am writing this during the time when only the pilot is out, so it will most certaintly have inconsistencies with the new lore, and will be more imagining how i would see this "new" world.
In this fic Kit, Kaboodle, Gobbles and Flappers(as well as their ship Nimble) will discover and have to deal with ramifications of this concept alongside the reader, as well as learn to adapt and change and grow for the better. There might be an intermission here and there with the other characters, but the main focus is on our team, and the people closest and dearest to them. Friends, family. Dealing with trauma, loss and acceptance, and growth past that.

Summary
Part 1 of a 3 or 4 part project that aims to write an actual ending for the Hotwheels: Highway 35/Acceleracers universe. Written "as if" it could be a real project, so same level of content as the movies were back in the day.
Plan for now, assuming I'm submitting this correctly (first AO3 submission so forgive me if it takes a few tries to figure it out) is to release one chapter/section of the story at a time, all culminating in a big finale introducing the new "Racing Realms". Part 1 explores the immediate aftermath of The Ultimate Race and Wylde's rescue and sets up the plot details and characters the finale will explore as time goes on.
If you do happen across this project (hello fellow dead fandom sufferers who are probably rapidly approaching your 30s or already there) please feel free to give feedback. Part 1 is "finished" even though I'm only posting it one Chapter at a time, to give myself time to make adjustments based on any feedback or new ideas I get. I haven't started Part 2 yet but know what I want for it for now, and I'm considering adding "interludes" in the same style as the Realm shorts that released between movies.

A return to the original, pre-super genesis wave continuity with an emphasis on concluding unfinished plot threads and character arcs.
