Summary
"I know what a breakup looks like," Daniel says. "The better question is, why are you coming to me about it? I'm the one who broke up your little sham."
"This is what humans do, don't they?" Armand asks, letting his voice drop. "Crashing on their friends' couches when there's a blip in their romances?"
"Except we're not friends. We're actually very much not friends." Daniel shrugs, as if it's all the same to him. "And I can't imagine the great vampire Armand deigning himself to sleep on my fucked-up sofa. That thing's been here since the nineties."
"Well," Armand only says. "I saw you have a guest bedroom."

Summary
There were universal truths. Slice a man open, he’ll bleed. Push him, he’ll fall. Stop his heart, he’ll die.
What did it make a man who broke the rules? More than human? Less?
///
Or: An operation gone wrong lands Hawkeye square in the middle of a medical mystery he'd rather not be participating in.
So it goes. -

Summary
“I’ve never been here before. It’s charming, just not my usual scene,” the man says, smirking a bit. Hawkeye doesn’t read any humor in that smirk.
“A special occasion then. To what do we owe this rare honor?” Hawkeye asks. The man stares into his drink and shakes his head ruefully.
“I just learned that my wife has been cheating on me,” the man says, a wry smile on his lips. Hawkeye opens his mouth to commiserate because wow, no fun, but then the man follows up that depressing statement with, “with my little sister,” and that blows Hawkeye’s paltry words of comfort out of the water.

In which Rosie is forced to witness two men meet, drink copiously, and teach each other that it's never too late to be happy.

Hawkeye turned in his arms, setting his chin on his hands, his palms flat over BJ’s sternum.
Their eyes met. BJ’s breath caught, his chest warming—God, was Hawkeye lovely. BJ told him so.
“With this nose?” Hawkeye asked, crossing his eyes.///
The war ends. Life doesn’t.

Summary
“Benjamin Franklin Hawkeye Pierce,” BJ croons in your ear. “So quick to offer your food and your socks and your opinions. I wonder what other intimacies you would offer if I asked,” he breathes as your toes curl in your regulation boots.
“Which ones did you want?” you answer, wow, so stupidly, so incredibly stupidly. BJ smiles at you, his expression almost wolfish, and you shiver. It feels like you’re in a daze, like you’ve entered a mirror universe where BJ looks and talks even more like a pinup holo than usual.
-
In which BJ starts losing some of that steely Vulcan control, and Hawkeye pokes his nose in places where he only technically belongs.

Between "I'll never shake you" and GOODBYE, BJ tucks a "hello" into Hawkeye's pocket.

“Something to help you keep track of time,” BJ said.
“Keep track of—Beej, what? You’re giving me your watch?”
“Loaning,” BJ corrected, a grin growing beneath that war crime of a mustache. “I’ll take it back a year from now, when you come find me in Mill Valley to return it. With interest, of course.” He patted the pocket, grin fading to something earnest. “That way you know I mean it when I say we’ll see one another again.”

Summary
No one has ever seen Light’s soul, but it haunts his dreams as a monster: eyes bloody as sunrise, feathers tasting of citrus and sharpie fumes, breath hot as summer and twice as brutal. At first, he thinks the notebook itself is his soulmate. Then he tells himself Misa can be enough.
L ruins everything. For the first time, someone sees Light’s soul, and through his eyes Light knows it must look monstrous – why else would L be hunting him over it?

Summary
In his first life, L died in the arms of his greatest enemy.
In his brief second one, he died alone.
And in his third, too-long life, L died anticipating finally getting even with the man who'd won their game one too many times.
And Light Yagami? If he'd known this is what picking up the Death Note would bring....well, he'd probably still have done it anyway.

Every K/S writer is bound to eventually write a story about an accidental marriage and/or telepathic bond. Mine happened to be the first one I wrote. Written and published in 2001; revised 2003.

Summary
Author William Graham has had a book on the bestseller list for the better part of a decade. He's also a recluse—no interviews, only a rare book signing or lecture. Otherwise, no one knows much about the man beyond the words in his novels and the requisite headshot on every cover. Even the blurb printed underneath his scowling, bespectacled face, framed by a head of messy curls—
“Oh my God,” said the woman strapped to Hannibal's surgical table, “will you please just kill me already?”
***
Dr. Hannibal Lecter has a thriving psychiatry practice and a not-so-secret obsession; William Graham has an impressive writing career and not a single goddamn clue.

Summary
Will survives the fall into Chesapeake Bay; Hannibal does not. Wracked by his grief, and the weight of things left unsaid, Will returns to Lithuania to inhabit the ruined, and potentially (definitely) haunted castle of Hannibal's childhood.
Hannibal is dead, but also Hannibal is in this fic as an actual ghost, not a metaphor ghost.

Summary
Hannibal smells her first. Nearly buried beneath the pungency of the cheap colognes mounted on a nearby display case is something totally incongruous: the sticky-sweet dough scent of the cinnamon pretzels sold down on the mall’s first level. He parts the suits with both hands, hangers squeaking on the bar, and looks down at the young girl squatting on the floor in the middle of the rack.
Or, Will loses his daughter at the mall. Hannibal returns her to him.
