Casey Junior didn’t remember too much about his dad. Which, well, was reasonable considering she’d died when he was barely five. There were a few things he remembered, of course. His snaggle-toothed smile, her big laugh, playing with her tail. But that was about it. And every time he asked one of his uncles or his mother about her, they’d say they were busy and walk off.
He could understand that too. Grief was an absolute wrecking force. CJ could barely talk about Uncle Donnie without a tear coming to his voice cracking with emotion.Considering all of this, you would assume that CJ wouldn’t be too impacted when he saw his father’s teenage self. After all, he didn’t have too many memories of him. It shouldn’t have hurt him so much. But, well, it did. God, it hurt worse than seeing his mom. It didn’t make sense.
He did know one thing for sure, however; he got his height from Raphael’s side.

Karai came to awareness with a looming sense of dread. She felt soft carpet underneath her knees. Her nose twitched as she took in the scents of incense and tea. Soft piano music drifted in from another room.
Every sense told her that she was in someone’s home.
Karai hadn’t felt the peace of a home in over five hundred years.
In the best case scenario, this was a new dirty trick of Shredder’s. The worst…
“Hamato Karai? Can you hear me?”
She looked up in horror into the eyes of an old man, leaning heavily on a bo staff that towered so high above him, it couldn’t have been made for his use.
“What have you done?”

What if Karai was brought back before the return of the shredder? What if Splinter never had to raise four children all on his own? What if the turtles had proper training from the start?
What if it didn't change anything? What if it changed everything?

His skin is a dull leafy green; and he dresses in robes of orange. His hands were covered in scars and dust. With cracks along his arms and bruises on his knuckles.

Once upon a time he was simple known as Mikey.

(This is set during the six months before ITBOTB starts, but can be read without reading ITBOTB. I love Casey and Cass so much that if I wrote all of their interactions in ITBOTB they would have completely stolen the plot)
Meeting someone from the future claiming to be your student from an apocalypse timeline is weird enough when you're a family of mutant ninja turtle teens. But can you imagine being an eighteen year old clan (cult) leader less than a year after leaving an ancient mystic clan bent on world domination, and running into a scruffy looking wet kitten of a ninja two years younger than you claiming to be your kid?
Funnily enough, not the weirdest thing Cassandra Jones has seen this week. At least the guy can fight.

They’ve noticed that I’ve gotten quieter, joke less, argue less, and I take being the leader more serious than ever before. And…” Leo raised the empty mug. “They’ve noticed that it’s been five months since I’ve woken them up screaming in the middle of the night. Let them think I’m getting better, god knows they need to stop worrying about me so much.”

Casey Jones Jr. is a good soldier. He could follow out his orders with high levels of creativity and success. In the later years of the war, he could even dish them out almost as well thought out as his Sensei. His master had trained him well.
He couldn’t help but feel that he’d failed somehow. That he’d made a mistake in choosing to follow his last order to a T. Never mind the fact that he’d barely had time for his brain to catch up to what was happening before he was literally thrown through a time gate. The very same one that had killed his Uncle. The very same one he couldn’t get out of in time to save the man he’d always silently called his father.
He’d found himself in the past, having successfully completed his last orders. Surrounded by versions of his family he can only barely recognize. So, he did what he always did in stressful situations: grin and bear it. If it worked for Master Leonardo, it’ll work for him, right?

Casey Jones Jr. struggles to deal with the aftermath of his Masters’ decision. Struggling to deal with post war trauma and how to live in a time of peace. At least he has his family with him, even if he doesn’t quite see these new versions as his quite yet.
