Danny can immediately smell the bad news but something screams to stay out of sight of this man as much as possible. Weeks pass and he wish he had ignored that feeling and pulled his parents away from him sooner. Now his throat is ripped out, and he's at the mercy of Vlad to find him a cure.

Vlad finds Danny being attacked by his parents turned vampire, and has to run the young halfa to the one place that has dealt with the undead in such an outbreak to hope they still have the cure.

While the scent of burning flesh still lingered in his nostrils, the Headmaster told Harry it was his mother's love that made blisters appear under his touch, made blood boil and fat melt, and that this was a beautiful thing.
That summer, whenever he awakened from nightmares filled with the screams of a dying man, blistered and cracked skin, eyes leaking more than just tears, he thought back on the Headmasters reassuring words and let them convince him what he did wasn’t bad at all.
