Abby: oh jesus FUCKING christ
Abby: are you telling me that now when she stays there, you both just sleep in your bed - what, platonically?
Frank: well, when you put it that way, it sounds ridiculousdecember 2026

Summary
The crinkle at the bridge of his nose indicated confusion. The way his lips turned down as he searched the room for something, or someone, else. The unfamiliarity in his eyes. All of it combined into an expression that made her heart sink.

he's put in place three rules for himself since returning to the emergency department: be transparent when handling drugs, spend as much time with mel as possible, and stay out of trinity santos' business.
he doesn't mean to break rule three. he really doesn't.

Summary
She is midway through a thought about how delightful her sandpit is when a high-pitched voice cuts through the air. “Hey! What’s your name?”
Mel turns, a red plastic shovel clenched in her fist. She searches for a moment, unsure where the voice has come from, before she spots a dark-haired head peeking over the wooden fence separating her backyard from the neighbour’s. The Petersons had it put in right after Becca and Mel learned to walk. Through the gaps between the slats, she can see the outline of a boy standing on his tiptoes on an overturned bucket.
She drops her shovel and walks over to the fence. There’s a multi-coloured table lying on its side in the grass. Becca normally holds her tea parties there, but Mel doesn’t think her twin will mind her using it as a stool. Especially not for a potential friend.
Or: Frank is Mel's next-door neighbour. They grow up together. It's hella cute and angsty.
