Wen Kexing looks skeptical, but curious.
“You see," Jing Beiyuan continues, "a very long time ago I made a promise to my friend, and I’m hoping you might be able to help me deliver on it.”
“What on earth did you promise him?”
Jing Beiyuan flashes his most fox-like smile. “A beautiful Nanjiang bride with a slender figure.”
Wen Kexing blinks in amused surprise as Jing Beiyuan makes a theatrical show of holding his hands up to measure the span of Wen Kexing’s trim waist, already contemplating the trunk full of finery he’s not worn since his own wedding day. “I think you’ll do nicely, don’t you? I’m certain you’ll look absolutely stunning in red.”
