The Blueprint
FyrestoneSirenShane comes out to Montreal, they get weird about it for a week. Shane puts them in their place describing how none of them are his type and how theyre all lacking. This kicks off a hilarious reversal where theyre all peacocking trying to get his approval with hayden in the corner just fanning the flames of their bizarre support. Very crack, very hilarious. Poor shane is really suffering being stuck with these shameless buffoons

Featuring an ill-timed outing, a supportive but clueless team trying its best, panicking over Russia's LGBTQ laws, too many group chats, an unhinged 3am brainstorming session on how to get your captain a new citizenship (asking for a friend) and Roz' inability to answer his fucking phone.
Or: Ilya disappears in Sochi. Half-way across the world his team does its best to help. Their best is more than anyone could have foreseen.

This fic is both hilarious and deeply gut wrenching with marlows panic for his friend and the public doing their best to help obfuscate ilyas escape -

It’s the refrain of Shane’s life. Everything circles back to this: a lot of kids looking up to you. That’s why you need to spend your summers doing ad campaigns. That’s why you need to let a social media manager handle your every interaction online. That’s why we need to sit here after family dinner with flash cards rehearsing the different ways you’ll answer reporters’ questions after you face Boston next week, and, oh, when we’re done, let’s do some French vocabulary flashcards, too, because it’s important to the Francophone fans that you’re thinking about them. There are lots of Asian Francophones in Quebec, Shane. Almost 13% of primary schoolers are of Asian descent, compared to less than 4% of hockey players. Isn’t that pathetic?
As if Shane doesn’t know that it’s pathetic. As if Shane doesn’t know what he fought through to get here.
Abruptly, Shane is furious.
