Summary
“Journaling,” Betsy Dobson had told Aaron in a recent session, “is a great method of expressing your feelings without any pressure. I understand how vulnerable it can seem, and it may be unappealing at first, but I recommend you at least give it a try. I find it’s a good place to start.”
Aaron stared at the lined paper in front of him and scowled. Without thinking, he picked up the uncapped pen lying beside the journal and began writing. His hand moved before he could second-guess himself, ink flowing from the pen in just-legible cursive. When he was done, he underlined the sentence harder than necessary.
Aaron Minyard’s Step-By-Step Guide to Not Going Insane
Or, Aaron Minyard tries journaling for the first time, attempting to follow Bee's advice. He doesn't enjoy the idea, but with exams, a twin brother who won't talk to him, and his newfound freedom to date his girlfriend and form new friendships, he's willing to add an extra problem into the mix.

Summary
Aaron had a sudden sensation that could only be considered twin telepathy. He didn’t believe in twin telepathy, mainly because it sounded like a bunch of bullshit, but the dawning horror in Andrew’s eyes had to match Aaron’s jaw drop.
Andrew looked down at Neil against his shoulder, then back at Katelyn on Aaron’s chest. Outwardly, he made no sign he saw anything, yet Aaron knew he had seen the same thing he had.
Or, Katelyn tags along to the Foxes' movie night. Aaron and Andrew have a horrible realization.

Summary
“You do not have to wear it.”
Instead of responding, Jeremy turned the hoodie over in his hands and dug into the main body of it, forcing his arms through the sleeves. As a last-second thought, Jeremy reached behind him and grabbed the hood, pulling it over his head before tucking his arms into the large pocket at the front. When he was finished, he turned to Jean and stuck out an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
Jean stared at him, mouth tugged down in a tight frown. “I said you didn’t have to.”
“I heard you,” Jeremy reassured, tucking his hand back into the pocket. “I wanted to.”
Or, Jean lends Jeremy his hoodie; Jeremy spirals from there.

Summary
Beneath one of his t-shirts was another box. It was a Marlboro Light, one of his mother’s that she had kept in the passenger side compartment for when they made stops. Inside was one stick left.
Neil had lit the last two in the time since he had buried his mother. She had left three in the pack before she died.
He shook the final remaining cigarette into his hand with the lighter.
Or, Neil Josten stops at a gas station in California after Mary Hatford dies and lights her last cigarette. He doesn't get to finish it.

Summary
“Well?” Jean challenged, bold enough to make something in Jeremy’s chest race. “You told me to do it before. It’s your turn.”
Jeremy had told Jean, once, that crying was healthy.
He was a hypocrite. He knew that. The idea of having Jean find out, though, made Jeremy’s stomach churn. “I’m good.”
“You are not.”
Or, Jeremy has an anxiety attack and Jean doesn't leave him alone.

Summary
It doesn’t surprise Andrew that Neil falls asleep no two minutes after that. He had been up all night, ignoring the medicine because it tasted “too sweet” and not laying down in Andrew’s or his own bed to avoid waking anyone up with his coughing.
Andrew looks down at him, face gone soft with his lips parted slightly and eyes hidden beneath his lids, thinks about how soft the man that called a mobster out on live television looks and feels like someone opened his chest and placed the sun inside of it.
(or, five times neil falls asleep on andrew and one time he doesn't)

Summary
"Neil," Wymack says again.
He blinks up at the clock. 9:05PM.
Five minutes, gone. Two hours, gone. Neil doesn't try and rewind the time any further — he knows he'll just find more gaps in his memory, more lapses he can't recall.
Andrew's graduated, and Neil is adrift.

Summary
For most people, a problem is a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful that needs to be dealt with or overcome.
For Andrew Minyard, it’s the word that fits Neil Josten with a capital P.
