Whatever that thing was, Revali determined, it most certainly wasn’t a mask.

Summary
Being sent to the Rito in the dead of winter is a punishment. Link is ostensibly relieving the longtime Hylian military attaché, so this could be construed a promotion—but for the timing.
Another birthday has come and gone, and still he has not presented. And even though everyone expects him to be appointed the Princess’s knight, one thing is for sure—the King will never select anyone but an alpha. And he certainly won’t trust his only child with someone who hasn’t even presented yet. Maybe it would be different if Link had the sword that seals the darkness, but he doesn’t.

He’s nine again– nine and new and knows so many things now so rather than try to go back–
He thinks he has the chance to make things right.
The bright blue trainers he puts on are a pair he hasn’t worn in forever, something he never thought about after he grew out of them (will grow out of?) a year from now, and sets off into the night and into the rain.
The plan he has in his brain is not really a plan, moreso just a couple of half thrown ideas and maybe five steps into building back the life he had in the most painless way he could.
Maybe, he thinks, maybe this plan can start off with the family he misses– because he’s sixty and most of them too injured or too old or too dead–
Call him selfish but he misses them. He would rather find them than get himself back into that lonely existence he called a life before he woke up at nine.
Dick makes do because that’s all he can do really.

It's been 5 years since Jason died.

There’s a hole in a billboard. A giant hole in a billboard, as if Superman had got a little too heated. Another billboard is hanging off by the hinges. Another billboard crashed down on the ground.
There’s craters in the ground, a car smashed into a tree. Both him and his brethren watch a wheel fall off and roll down the street in a steady line.
Two dumpsters pushed together to create a giant, but controlled, dumpster fire.
“Going to hide in the realm and finally live up to being a King. I’ll stay there for centuries. Millenniums.”
Danny knows it’s futile. There’s nowhere he can go where B won’t find him and track him down. It’s the thought that counts right? Right? They’re so screwed. Like royally, and he’s royalty for Ancients sakes!
Duke sags against Danny. “I can do you one better. I’ll just throw myself off the Wayne building.”
“Mood.” Jason whistles at the damage, a hand on his hips.
