Viktor didn't know what he expected, confusion for the sudden topic change, derision at him pointing out the mistake, but it wasn't for the man to quite literally light up and exclaim, “I've been stuck on this for days. How did you figure that out? You're a genius!”
Viktor stared at him, equal parts taken aback by the sudden compliment and appalled at him being this excited in front of someone who had robbed and threatened him.(Or, When Viktor accompanies his siblings on their first robbery in Piltover, he doesn't expect to find himself in a workshop of someone trying to achieve the impossible. He especially doesn't expect to meet an even more impossible man.)

Aventurine’s head whipped back into place to face Ratio. Those words couldn’t be real. Not coming out of Ratio’s mouth, and not directed towards Aventurine. He needed confirmation. He needed confirmation that this was real, he wasn’t dreaming, he wasn’t insane, he was here, he was real and that actually happened. Because not even in his wildest dreams would something as impossible as this occur. Desperately, Aventurine seized Ratio’s arms which were loosening around him as he looked to him for validation.
Aventurine stared at him in horror.
Ratio was passed out.
