Summary
It's Fall of 2014 and Ilya Rozanov has cut all ties with Russia. But there's no such thing as a clean break, and leaving isn't as simple as never going back.

Basically a very self-indulgent fic about how hard it would be for Ilya to actually move on from the pain of the past and to go no contact with his family in a timeline where Grigori is still alive. Also, Ilya deserves to be known and loved by more people than just Shane and Sveta. Forced/Found Family here we come.

Summary
Steve Rogers woke up in the 21st century, fought some aliens, and saved New York. Now, with the Avengers Initiative officially a go, he finds himself living in Howard's kid's tower with the rest of earth's mightiest heroes. Tony's fast-talking, Clint's pranks, and Thor's appearances from Asgard would be a hard enough adjustment, if Steve wasn't already dealing with the loss of everything and everyone he loved. Convinced he will lose his role as Captain America (the one thing left) if he acknowledges the nightmares and panic attacks, Steve attempts to hide the symptoms of his PTSD. “Rose is here right now.” Ilya settled on, weakly. His shoulders drew in unconsciously, protecting him from a blow that never came. And maybe it was selfish of him, wanting Pike to know that it was not his fault. That maybe, he was not as much of an asshole as Pike believed him to be. His accent was thick as he clarified, “He does not…want anything with Lily.”
