Summary
Xie Lian kicked off his boots and took off his socks. He curled his toes happily into the thick carpet that covered the floor - all the floors of the place had been covered with furs and carpets like this since his sweet husband had discovered that Xie Lian liked to walk around barefoot whenever he had the chance.
Home. Xie Lian still couldn’t wrap his head around it sometimes. Eight hundred years was a very long time to go without a home. First there had been the palace where he’d grown up, and for a very short time he’d had his heavenly palace - and then everywhere he’d stayed, all of his temporary places of residence had collapsed, burned down, been struck by lightning, flooded.
Either that or he’d been run out of town by angry villagers who had been affected by his misfortune - he’d soon learned that he could save himself a lot of pain by moving on before that happened.

Summary
After Xie Lian and Hua Cheng encounter a strange bear spirit in the Cave of Ten Thousand Gods, Hua Cheng is split into three past versions of himself: a ten-year-old Hong-er whose last memory is being tossed in a gunny sack, a thirteen-year-old Xiao-Hua who just snuck into the Xianle Army, and a Wuming who still smells of smoke from the burning of the Yong’an Royal Palace.
Trapped on Mount Tonglu with no spiritual energy, no way to call for help, and no basic necessities, Xie Lian and his three companions must keep each other alive while scouring the greater Tonglu area in search of the escaped spirit, all to bring back Xie Lian’s “husband,” a man Xie Lian won’t identify for fear of complicating an already complicated situation.
Jealous of a man they’ve never met, grappling with feelings of inadequacy, and frustrated with each other’s failings, Hong-er, Xiao-Hua, and Wuming are determined to help Xie Lian—even if a successful mission means they disappear.

Summary
Xie Lian freezes.
Because, Hua Cheng’s outer robes had come off.
Now, only his inner robes remain, and his husband turns towards him to wave, the sheen of sweat on his chest (he doesn’t even need to sweat! Hua Cheng knows exactly what he’s doing!) shimmering against the morning sun.
Xie Lian is stunned still, and Hua Cheng, clearly taking note, decides to use this to his advantage. He turns back to the pile of wood, and flips the axe in the air once before catching it expertly in his hands. Xie Lian watches as his fingers wrap around the hilt. Oh, how he wishes Hua Cheng were gripping his hips as firmly as that axe! Then, Hua Cheng swings down, chopping several pieces in one go. Like this, his muscles are even easier to see against his inner robes! Ah… Xie Lian had no idea something as mundane as chopping wood could be so unbelievably … hot!
(Or, what starts as a usual morning in Puqi village derails into a game that Hua Cheng and Xie Lian like to play. A game of seeing who can get the other to give in first, in which Hua Cheng always wins. Xie Lian oh so desperately wants this to be his turn to finally claim the prize.)

Summary
All of the prayers were of similar content and came from the same location － the town of Ning Hai, which Xie Lian, to honesty and slight embarrassment, had never heard of.
...Scrap Immortal, Red Robed Ghost King, our gods don't answer our prayers, you are the last hope!..

...People disappear, a lot of them! Two days ago a whole family left and never came back, no trace of them anywhere...
