Summary
It's not because the story has a lot of muddy parts that Grian does not remember some of it as distinctly as stones standing above the tepid water. He knows where he comes from. He's a Watcher of the Steep clan. His exile and his arrival to Hermicraft do not change what he is.

Summary
In a world where everyone has their own special skill (and some of those skills are..better than others) we welcome you to Hermiton, home base of the Watcher Council and its cadre of heroes, tasked with defending the city (and occasionally the world) from threats within and without.
Like any good group of heroes, they face villains, and none are as wily- or as hard to defeat- as The Conflagration.
With such noted rogues as the Goat, The Mountain, Helsknight, Symmetria and the Red King, their plans are varied, obscure and difficult to fully destroy. Particularly now, as their newest member- Mr. House- has added a much needed element of reliable logistics and supply.
He also knows a lot- like, a LOT- about two important things.
The first is the Watcher Council's very dirty laundry.
The second is Loop Hero Singularity.

“We’re heading west,” Grian said, his voice quiet but firm.
“Yes,” Mumbo confirmed.
“You’re coming with us?”
“I want to make sure you get there.”
Grian studied him for a moment, then asked the question that had been weighing on Mumbo’s mind the entire day. “What will you do after?”
Mumbo hesitated, then shook his head slowly. “I don’t know. Maybe head home, if there’s anything left of it. Or just… figure out what freedom feels like.” He paused, his voice barely a whisper. “If there is such a thing anymore.”
Or, Mumbo escapes captivity with two hybrids, and fights to keep them safe by finding the Hermits.

Summary
A captive mage to cruel hunters, Jaime has spent years hoping a werewolf pack would break through his wards, freeing the wolves and ending Eskender's quest for gold and blood.
As a child, he'd dreamed they'd see his pain and be merciful enough to set him free, too.
When wolves finally find them years later, Jaime only dares to ask for a quick death. He should have known he wouldn't be so lucky.
