Alex has never met his soulmate.
Well; not yet anyway.
The only birthmark he has is on right arm, near his shoulder, seven moles that stand out in his dark skin. He’d gotten a tattoo there just a few months ago, thin lines uniting each dot like a bright constellation in the night sky.
He doesn’t know for sure if it’s a soulmark or not. It could just be another standard, normal, not-a-sign-from-the-universe mark on his body, but the truth is, he doesn’t have much more.
Deep down, something had always told him those stars on his skin are special.

Summary
Henry flushes, tonguing their lip. They try to ignore the man’s eyes dropping to their mouth. “Well, why should I trust you?”
“You probably shouldn’t. I am a stranger, and I know who you are,” The man says. He crosses his arms, and Henry gets an urge to touch his bicep. They ignore it. “I’ve got a date with Hyde Park and the Frameless experience nearby. Wanna come with?”
Henry should say no. Their entire being, the one composed of painstakingly built walls of logic and reason above their every want and desire, screams at them. Funnily enough, it's in Pip’s voice.
Well. It's about time Henry decides something on their own.
(Or: Henry leaves the palace for the day, and meets Alex on the tube.)

Summary
Bea takes the diary from him and snaps it shut. "Well, love, that's because I'm meeting Alex. We'll be at the studio in an hour, so if you're coming with, you should probably wear some nicer trousers."
Henry looks down at his shorts. He thinks they belonged to Pez at one point since they have the words juicy written over the arse in fancy script. "That," He says, "Is completely beside the point."
She shrugs, "Alright. If you want to see the man you've crushed on for two years in those shorts, be my guest."
Well. That only covers part of the problem. The part where Alex infuriates him, that he has to put in an unreasonable amount of effort not to drop things around him because of how beautiful he is. That he is, admittedly, a little bit in love with him.
Or, Alex is a singer collaborating with Bea and Henry is dragged along for the ride, much to his reluctant delight.

Summary
There’s a man in Henry’s bedroom. That, itself, isn’t noteworthy. He’s become rather proficient at smuggling men in and out of his room at Kensington Palace and his first-year flat at Oxford.
It’s not even especially noteworthy that the man is quite arresting. For better or worse, Henry’s title and reputation tend to help him pull gorgeous men with somewhat astonishing frequency. This man is, of course, particularly gorgeous. He’s tall, with olive skin, dark hair, and a bone structure that would send the old masters into a frenzy of pigments, linseed oil, and canvas.
But, perhaps, the most noteworthy thing is that the man in Henry’s bedroom is quickly and awkwardly wiping his eyes with the backs of his hands. That he seems just as surprised to see Henry as Henry is to see him.
Or, the handwavey, time-travelly, astral-projectiony, canon-smooshy AU nobody asked for, but we're giving it to you anyway.

Alex knows he's spiraling, panic rising the more he thinks of the snowballing effect of his lie, of the consequences that will inevitably come to bite him in the ass, but he has no idea how to stop it. "And now I have to come clean and tell her I don’t actually have a boyfriend and also explain why I lied, and if they didn’t think I was a complete mess before, this is gonna confirm it for sure.”
Henry takes hold of both his hands, fingertips stroking over his pulse points soothingly. “Alex, breathe.” He waits until Alex manages a slow, slightly shaky breath, then opens his mouth and throws him a fucking curveball. “What if you didn’t come clean?”

Alex is an expert at making messes, but this time he dug himself into a hole he doesn't know how to get out of, and now his family is expecting him to bring home a boyfriend that - small problem - doesn't exist. Luckily for him, Henry is willing to take the role.

Summary
That day at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Alex comes across the very same Prince Henry who just dismissed him having a panic attack in a bathroom. The choice Alex makes then has ripple effects neither of them could have ever expected. What's the story like, when they actually are friends all along?
“So, you’re going back to England tonight, and you’ll spend the next three days pretending you two are the closest and best of friends until we can put this mess behind us.”
And there are reasons he hasn’t told anybody this, good reasons, even though he’s sure June and Nora saw through him ages ago. Faced with his mom’s disappointment, though, and with the realization that the entire world apparently thinks he hates Henry and would willingly shove him into a fucking cake, he can’t stay quiet.
“But we are friends,” he says, vehement and serious. “We have been for years. He’s—he’s probably my best friend, actually, along with Nora.”

Steve was supposed to meet Bucky outside the automat at two. Yet here Bucky was, listening to the two fifteen train clatter past over his head with no sign of Steve.
A late Steve meant a half decent chance Bucky would find him somewhere he probably shouldn’t be, like down an alley, behind a bar, under a dock with the tide creeping in. Could be a fight, could be a litter of abandoned kittens, could be carrying an old lady’s groceries, but whatever it was?
It’d be something worth being late for.
