"I can't believe it..." Raising his forearm to cover his face, whether it was to conceal his expression or something else, he bitterly sighed. "Then why'd you even take care of me in the first place? If it wasn't out of love, then what was it?" His velvety, violet ears were lowered to his hair and even his long tail dejectedly slinked.
"The answer's right in front of you," you mumbled, avoiding eye contact. "Our definitions of love are completely different, and you youkai have far longer lifespans than us humans." The more you spoke, the more his body recoiled painfully. He was a feline youkai while you were just a mere human. It was by pure chance that your paths intersected, and even more luckier that you'd stay together this long.
"Please take me back home, Ame."
Before you could receive an answer, a sudden force pinned you beneath him. His grip was unyielding, but when you stared into those dilated pupils, watery pearls fell from his cheeks. His canine teeth dug into his bottom lip so hard that they bled, but the pain couldn't stop him from weeping.
"I can't...I won't."
"...I won't let you leave me so easily."
