22 year old Kate Lane thinks that her truck breaking down in the middle of nowhere, at night, during a storm, is the worst life is going to throw at her today. Oh boy is she wrong.
Follows the basic plot of RE 2 remake but with a new protagonist thrown in, as well as some twists to add some flavor as well as integrate the Claire and Leon story together better. I'm currently rewriting this to be 3rd person as the original was 2nd and I was having trouble with it. Original chapters are still up for now just with (old) added for clarity.Series

Leon’s jaw tightened. “I’ll manage.”
“Manage?” Chris took a step forward. “You’re wrapped up in bandages, and you’re talking about managing like this is some routine assignment- ”
“It is routine,” Leon cut in sharply.
The silence that followed was immediate. Chris stared at him like he didn’t recognize him. Leon felt it, like something cracking open in his chest.
So he doubled down.“That’s the job,” he added, colder now. “You don’t get to pick when it’s convenient.”
Chris flinched. It was small and barely noticeable, but Leon still saw it. And it made something inside him twist so violently he almost lost his footing.
*Good. Keep going. Make it worse. He’ll let go if you make it worse.*
