Hermione was practically panting now and she willed herself not to do what she thought she was about to do, but when she looked up, she was lost. He was crouched in front of her, gently removing the lock from her hands, which was apparently the very last thing that was tethering her to reality. A lock of his silvery blond hair had fallen from the faux pompadour he wore it in, and just barely brushed his forehead.
“Hermione…” She reached up, grabbed him by the collar, and kissed him.

She is somewhere, but she doesn't know where.
Every week, for an hour, Hermione sits with her therapist. The office is blurry, the windows with no real weather, and there's no door. Beside her, in a tank, there's a goldfish. He swims, and swims, and swims, and Hermione drowns under the weight of her woes.
__Hermione tilts her head back, looking at the stars above. She takes a deep, heaving breath.
She screams her fucking lungs out.
It lasts about ten seconds. Sometimes she can go for longer. She doesn’t have the energy tonight to continue.
It’s enough to relieve the pressure on her chest, though. It’s enough to keep her upright for another day.
Once she peters off, she takes in another deep breath, to help herself settle. She shakes out her hair and turns, and that’s when she nearly stumbles back into the gorge. A pale face, silver eyes, and six feet of surprise stare at her.
“What the fuck was that?” Draco Malfoy asks, his eyes wide, hands in the air.
