Unfortunately, this also often coincides with being at a point in the attainment of that goal where it’s too damn late and you’re just gonna have to suck it up, buttercup, and get your shit together and do it anyway.
Tim is pretty sure this shit is absolutely not worth it, but it’s too late now and even if it wasn’t, Mama ain’t raise no fuckin’ quitter.

Mr. Wayne sniffing around might be the best and worst thing that could’ve happened. Is Batman hot on his tail, or does Mr. Wayne actually want to help? Despite knowing that they need to cut ties, the more Mr. Wayne shows up, the less Tim wants to do this alone.
Lucy’s best chance might mean facing up to everything he was trying to hide.

"You're not hurt?" Dick is saying. "Nothing cruel and unusual, right?"
"She only let me have one cup of coffee a day," says Tim, very dry, and Dick makes a strange sort of a sound, almost a laugh, and tightens his hold so much it sweeps Tim right off his feet.

Just because he knows where Batman and his rotating cast of Robins live, the routes they take on patrol, and their usual chili dog modifications doesn’t mean he’s invading their privacy. He likes them a normal amount. It’s for this reason that he acts like a perfectly normal person when he finally gets the opportunity to meet one of his heroes.

And is also possibly involved in criminal activity—what’s a rich kid doing alone in Crime Alley running from the drug ring’s henchmen, and how does he have personal contact with half of the Gotham rogues?
It’s all very annoying. Jason doesn’t care about the kid at all, nope, not one bit.

The boy had dark gray circles under his eyes that he’d clearly covered up with makeup, but his unusually pale skin made the contrast too steep for foundation. He was also way too thin. It was all coming together to create a more unfortunate image in which Tim was silently struggling, but saving face for the sake of his image. It was admirable, if not incredibly unhealthy.
Dick says he just needs time. Jason says he’s rich, so he can’t be that sad.
Bruce says he’s depressed.OR
Tim thinks he’s being investigated by the Bats because he's a genius who secretly solves their cold cases, but an idiot when it comes to anything social. Bruce actually just wants to make sure Tim’s okay because he's a teenaged CEO with dead parents, and Bruce sees too much of himself in him.

Tim always carried pepper spray with him — always. Living in a city like Gotham, that was practically a given.
It was especially necessary when one was ten years old and currently sneaking around in the shadows of the night.
Something touched his shoulder, and on reflex, Tim pulls the trigger, before he can catch sight of green pixie boots.
Oh no!
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry Mister Robin, Sir! Are you all right?”
“What the fu- I mean frick, kid?”

It’s almost eerie how much these nights mirror each other. Only this time Tim’s pepper spray is joined by a knife.
But it’s not Robin he attacks this time, it’s a weird guy in a red helmet, and the spray can do nothing against that!
Tim is sure he’s never seen helmet-guy before, so why does he know Tim’s name and insists on helping him out?
Or: Tim goes out at night to take photos of the Bat’s. Twice, he meets Jason. Only once, is it Robin. But Jason’s suddenly two feet taller and wearing a red helmet. Something’s clearly wrong here.
