In 2015, Steve and the Avengers search for Bucky Barnes, thanks to a little extra intel from the future. GEN-based hurt/comfort/angst story, heavy on friendship, recovery, and examination of one very traumatized guy from the 1940s. COMPLETE, Standalone.
This canon-based multi-verse story takes place immediately after Age of Ultron. What does that mean? Because this is part of my Winter Soldier Time Travel series, it takes place in a canon-compliant timeline offshoot from the original canon-based story. I recommend you read Part 1 of the series (Winter Soldier: Resurrection), but you can easily understand this story without doing so. However, Part 1 is an easy read, less than 40K words, and it'll give you the background for this story. Part 2 of the series isn't relevant to Part 3, so you don't have to read that long story to understand this one at all. The end of Part 1 leads directly into Part 3 (Isn't the MCU multiverse fun?). I know I wanted to believe that he wanted me, but a small part of me knew it was too good to be true. Edward was tall, strong, intelligent, practically carved from marble. I was just, well, me.
