Summary
The orange peel theory is a theory invented on the internet which consist in asking your romantic partner to do a small action for you. It may be peeling an orange, as the name supposes, or just tying your hair back. It's supposed to mean that if the person loves you enough to do an 'easy thing' which you could do yourself just as easily then they won't mind doing bigger things for you. Basically it's supposed to mean your partner loves you enough not to drop you as soon as a problem arises. It's cute really, until it shows you what you've been missing for years. Both good and bad. You learn that the hard way.

The thing about plastic chairs is that they weren't a great substitute for an actual bed; the other thing is, Robert can't exactly afford to be picky and even if he 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 the internal debate is still ongoing as to whether or not he deserves a mattress at this current point in his life.
So, the plastic chair stays and is staying for the foreseeable future. Besides, it's charming - in a depressing, minimalism-that-is-totally-not-a-reflection-of-his-inner-sense-of-worth way.

After the Death of Jason Todd, [M/N] hung up his cape and switch lanes. He had been Bruce's support, when Gotham Children Services needed Bruce to shape up after Dick's parent's death then they got married. The only get the house ready was in the form of [M/N], his closest piece.
When Bruce arrived to the academy after his parents death, he met [M/N] and sought him out to give him peace. Bruce having given what was enough to his husband who loved him dearly, and yet kept himself out of finger-tip reach. Now after many years, [M/N] was wearing down himself, his marriage and his kids. Oh, his kids, his Kids who began taking after Bruce in ways that broke [M/N]'s heart. Maybe they viewed him in a way like an object, that he will always be there and they're right. Now after another missed birthday, [M/N] began to hear and feel things. His family says he's asking for attention, that it's nothing.
Until he finds a small door with an interesting key.
