“Am I now?” Regina’s smirking at her and there’s enough mischief in those brown eyes to make Emma press her thighs together. She cannot seriously be turned on by her own hallucination. That’s another level of insanity and proves she really does need to get laid.
God, Freud would have a field day with her.
“Anyway, I’ve decided to just let you do whatever it is you do and not fight it. Coping mechanisms are supposed to be good, right?” Emma shrugs.
“Coping mechanisms are good. Extreme anxiety that results in apparent psychosis and hallucinations? Not so much, dear.” Regina snickers. “But worry not. I’m not a hallucination.”
Or that one where Emma starts seeing a woman no one else can see while trying to avoid the mafia lackeys of a loan shark.

Summary
Emma almost has everything. She's got a wonderful son, a beautiful, tender friend and co-parent, and a family she can count on. It was all she ever dreamed of, once upon a time. At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.
If she could go back...
