They gathered in fat drops on her jaw, then fell. Her shirt was soaked through. At the other end, practically miles, he stood. Shirt a mess, hair disheveled, eyes red and swollen. Scars littered his wrists and throat, bruises there too, chemical burns. He’d stopped letting the immortality take away the marks.

In the wake of a failed retrieval, Hunter and Luz are trapped in the Mindscape of Emperor Belos. For the outside world, they're only stuck in there for a few days. But for those two, it's much longer. And when the duo is finally rescued from the depths of the Emperor's mind, it only takes a second to realize that something's wrong.
Post-Hollow Mind AU where time works differently in Belos’ Mindscape, and after Luz and Hunter miss the first teleportation, they end up stuck in there for nearly a full year.
Featuring two extremely traumatized teens, a rebellion determined to overthrow the emperor, a group of students determined to see their friends smile, and an Owl Lady who just wants to protect her three kids.

The view from the staircase is, well, not stunning, that’s definitely not the word. It’s just that “view” is supposed to be accompanied by “stunning,” and Luz can feel her brain coming to a screeching halt and refusing to process what they’re seeing.
It's skeletons. Come on, they both knew it was going to be skeletons. The entire Isles know at this point.(Or: despite what the stories would have you believe, in the aftermath, there are things to deal with. Those things include ruined infrastructure, electing new leaders, and prosecuting those responsible for the old regime. And apparently, also Grimwalker mass graves.)

She wretched open the medicine cabinet. The phone slipped from her grasp and clattered in the sink. A tinny voice from the other end asked, “911, what is your emergency?”
Luz snatched her phone up. She slotted it into the crook of her neck. A bottle of aspirin almost leapt out of her hands as she selected it.
“My—” Luz choked. All these years, and still the word slithered out of her throat. “My husband is having a heart attack. I think.”

Takes place before the season 2 finale, basically if we had more time between Hollow Mind the Day of Unity, Luz gets taken to Belos and he decides to lock her away in the castle until they can leave the human realm together.
Philip is a horny touch starved old man for the only person who he believes can truly understand him, why else would she be sent his to him, past and present, to help him in his plans? It must have been divine intervention. He has every right to take what's his.
