To make matters worse, he's pissed off a very wealthy group of people who are responsible for numerous disappearances and several murders across the state. Made out to be their "Prize" and his hope dwindling by the minute, Malcolm isn't sure he's going to make through the night, much less live to see another day.

Summary
As soon as he wakes up Malcolm knows something has gone very, very wrong. The last thing he remembers is questioning prisoners at the correctional center with the rest of the team, and since he doesn’t remember leaving, there’s a good chance he’s still there, and not in a good position.
Stuck in a room with a sadistic prisoner intent on forcing Malcolm to play a dangerous game for the lives of his team mates, Malcolm has nothing to rely on but his own dumb luck.
And honestly, his luck has never been that good.

Gil and Malcolm are captured and tortured by a vengeful ex-con who wants to make Gil pay for putting him away. When their captors tire of their usual abuse, they threaten to rape Malcolm. Gil steps in and offers himself, willing to do whatever he has to to keep them away from Malcolm.
He's expecting to take Malcolm's place. He is not expecting to take their captor's place, with some added stipulations thrown in to the mix.
Or, Gil is forced to rape Malcolm, or watch as Malcolm is killed in front of him.

Buck caught Chimney moving to intervene between them but the words were already falling past Buck’s lips before he even realized he was speaking.
“I have a boyfriend.”
Buck stopped when he registered the words.
So, did Chimney before he shot Buck a look over his shoulder like Buck had grown a second head. Probably because, like Buck, Chimney knew that Buck did not have a boyfriend. In fact, he’d been single for a painfully long time since he and Taylor split up. Single and probably very obviously hung up on his best friend who didn’t seem to notice the way Buck would throw himself into oncoming traffic if Eddie asked.

Which was how Buck found himself waiting outside Eddie’s door with a jittery bounce in his step and a sense of delirious déjà vu of another time when he’d called up Eddie in the middle of the night feeling lonely.
The warm light of the inside of Eddie’s place basked around him like a halo and made him fuzzy around the edges as he opened the door. Warm and dreamlike that seeped into Buck’s muscles and made him relax for just a second.
“Hey—” Was all Eddie could get out before Buck was crossing the threshold and searing his lips against Eddie’s in a desperate kiss.
