    Summary

“Vulnerability doesn’t make you weak,” Wriothesley said, gaze steady. “Just real.”

Neuvillette looked at him over the rim of his cup. “And if I’m tired of being real?”

Wriothesley shrugged. “Then be tired. Be quiet. Be angry or soft or selfish. Just… be something for you. You’ve earned that.”

    Neuvillette’s throat closed.

And he realized—this was why he came. Not for escape. Not even for comfort. But for this small, unbearable truth: that in Wriothesley’s presence, he was allowed to be more than the roles carved into his bones.

    Allowed to be a man.

    A body.

    A heart.

Or, Neuvillette learns what it means to be seen, and Wriothesley teaches him how to stay.

    Summary

"Ryland Grace was not a brave man.

    Curious? Yes.

    Cocky? Definitely.

    Kind? Sure.

    But he was not brave.

Yet when Mary hailed a message to him and Rocky whilst they were in the “Don’t go crazy” VR room; “Blip E on radar, Dr. Grace.” Of course he had to be brave and check it out. As he and Rocky raced towards the cockpit, they looked towards the camera, and the sight caught all the words Grace wanted to say in his throat.

    A submarine. A human-looking submarine."

Grace didn’t really like sex all that much. He thought it was gross all the noises and textures and the feeling of someone touching him. It makes him cringe just thinking about.

He quite likes what he’s doing to Simon, however.

    Summary

"Don't- don't-" Simon whimpers, voice a terrified croak

"No, no," *Rocky huffs, trilling as he stops a few feet away*

"Grace say Grace like this when scared, Rocky help convict now." *the Eridian straightens up and juts out the front of his carapace, imitating when Grace puffs out his chest proudly after accomplishing something he deems worth praising.

Simon has never like Rocky. Not when the Eridian body-slammed him off of Grace when they first met and he was delirious and soaked in blood, not when the smaller being tried to offer him advice on "how to not leak so much." And certainly not the artificial, droning voice of the translator Grace gave him.
Then he has a nightmare, and Rocky is woken up by the sound of the convict screaming in his sleep.

Based off of a comment I made on TikTok- hopefully it's up to standard!

I like that a lot. I do want a version where grace has to learn the differences in their cultures taboos. 7/10
